Rehabilitation of roads in Ottery and Schaapkraal

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise residents, road users, businesses and the broader public of roadworks in Ottery and Schaapkraal. The work started yesterday, 10 September 2025, and is scheduled to end on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays. The work will be carried out between 08:30 and 16:00, Monday to Friday.
The roadworks will be carried out along the following road segments:
Resurfacing of roads in Ottery: Pine Close, Bishopstone Road, Cranborne Road, Stoughton Crescent, Sandown Drive, Bedford Way, Edward Way, Melville Road, Woodlands Road, Orchid Close, Beechwood Close, Newmarket Road, Charles Road, Swallowcliffe Drive and Fairview Close.
Grading of gravel in Schaapkraal: Vlei Road, Middle Road and Schaapkraal Road.
‘I would like to thank residents and road users for their patience during the course of this infrastructure led road resurfacing project. The work also comprises the raising and replacement, where necessary, of manholes, catchpits, frames and chambers. The reshaping of stormwater channels and re-gravelling will be done along Vlei Road, Middle Road and Schaapkraal Road to improve drainage. All road markings removed during the process will be reinstated with new retro-reflective road marking paint. This regular maintenance work prolongs the longevity of the City’s road network and helps us keep Cape Town moving,’ said the Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
